Aurora Blossom

What is unique to this plant is the remarkably hard, thick lens formed in the middle of the blossom, nearly transparent, which allows light to pass from one side of the blossom to the other. Normally covered by a cap of modified petals, when touched it opens and focus a bright beam of sunlight through it, much like a magnifying glass. It can produce a beam hot enough to char or produce flame at a distance of nearly 25-30 feet.

It is most often found in the upper portions of the Edanna tree, since there is not enough sunlight at lower levels for it to grow well, although it is sometimes found near Lambent Orchids.
