There has, in the past, been some confusion over the spelling of the word "wahrk." In her diary, Catherine spells it "wahrk," while Gehn spells it "whark" in his. The conclusion was reached that Catherine - being a native of the Age - would best know how to spell the creature's name, while Gehn, having obviously not taken much interest in the local culture, spelled it his own way.
