(This post is a work in progress, as we gather more info on the event)

Today the upcoming release of the âdefinitiveâ version of Myst was announced by Cyan!

The trailer evokes the beginning of the original version, while adding a few easter eggs. The soundtrack, composed by Hollister, ends in a subtle reference to things to come, while the Myst linking book has a full page in Dâni(nglish) (see below).

Myst will not be an Oculus exclusive: it will be released first as a VR-only title on the Oculus Quest platform, but the PC version â including 2D and support for additional VR hardware â will follow at a later date.

The minimum recommended requirements at this date are an NVIDIA GTX 1060 / AMD Radeon RX 480 graphic card, an Intel i5-4590 / AMD Ryzen 5 1500X processor, 16 GB RAM, 20 GB available space, DirectX 11.

You can already add Myst to your wishlist in the Oculus store, GOG or Steam.

Shorah to our most avid of fans,

If you are taking the time to read this, we know you love digging into all things Dâni and are excited for the upcoming release. We are too, but as you can see there are a few things wrong with this trailer. Letâs discuss them.

We know that in Regestoy, or the Art, that Dâni script is not traditionally used. As mentioned in the books, the Dâni used a special written dialect called gahro hevtee. While this language was understood by most Dâni as critical in creating an Age, you should know that â much like Dâni heritage â the paths are many and varied.

And of course, in adherence to DRC Directive 213.4.2, we are strictly forbidden in revealing any actual text from a descriptive or linking book. The last thing anyone needs is for you fanatics to successfully write a working book. So to keep an authentic aesthetic feel while maintaining compliance with DRC strictures we are taking artistic license and just changing this English text to the Dâni font. We know itâs heinous and sloppy. Please donât tell anyone and never ever do this yourself.

Oh, and one more thing we should mention. We know that tradition dictates that the linking panel should be on the very first page of a linking book. But again, for aesthetic reasons, we are thowing caution to the wind and making it look cool. And youâve got to admit it looks pretty cool.

Now go back and watch the trailer again and bask in the knowledge that you are truly one of the avids. Yâall are the best.

Aqua noted that â213.4.2â are the literal Dâni numerals, which in base-25 would be 1278.4.2, and started an attempt at translating the text in actual Dâni. Other pages with bits of text can be seen, but they are all a version of Lorem ipsum.
