Request For Comments: Age Creation Process
Posted 12 September 2008 - 03:18 PM
I've just completed a write-up on the entire age creation process on the Guild of Writers Wiki, starting from an idea and continuing on through multiple releases of the age. I mentioned how a created age (with FCAL approval) can be added to the archives here, but I'm unclear on the exact process for adding a page. Would someone mind explaining that part to me? I'd sure appreciate it!

Don't send the writers flooding over here just yet. Alahmnat needs to create a tag (tags?) for fan created ages. I think the actual technical work is easy, but I don't know if he has decided how he wants to do it.
That said, I'll answer your question so that you are ready when we are ready. Adding articles if fairly easy. Click on the "Archive" tab at the top of the page. In the side bar on the left there is header called "Contribute". Under that click on "New Article". Fill in the fields and write up your article. Click "Add Article" at the very bottom to add it.
Before you or any of the Writers starting popping out articles we would really appreciate if you all read the "Guidelines for Contributing to the Archive" http://www.dpwr.net/...c...icle&id=976 of greatest relevance to you is the section on how Ages should be written up http://www.dpwr.net/...amp;id=976#Ages
It would be great, Robert, if you were the first of the Writers to add an entry on a fan created Age. We can work out any kinks in the process and then we will have an example article to point other GoW members to.

Don't worry - writing these instructions doesn't mean that ages will start pouring out of our ears! This is to get something in place before MO:RE kicks in, and people start coming to us in droves. [optimistically speaking, of course]
I'd be glad to "beta-test" the archiving process; I'll try making an entry for Ahra Pahts (which had already received a FCAL) using your instructions sometime in the next few days.
